Whirlpool is another brand we've been familiar with for decades, ever since they bought Philips appliances division many, many years ago then they bought Bauknecht, a brand that at the time we were the service agents for in the West Central Belt of Scotland. At one point, we even courted the idea of becoming the Whirlpool service agents for the area, but that didn't happen.
Whirlpool appliances never really took off in the UK under the Whirlpool brand at any rate, apart from American fridge freezers for a while. But competition from Turkish, Korean and Chinese brands seemed to eat into that niche they had.
They then bought Indesit, which included brands like Hotpoint, Creda, Cannon and more.
Now, Whirlpool have pulled out of the European market and all the brands are now under the control of Beko Europe.
